BORDER FARM
Maybe you know maybe you don’t but there is a world happening right now under the one you can see and are living in.
It’s spring and with that comes birth, and a lot of it. If you see a super tired looking rancher or farmer, buy them a coffee and don’t ask questions, just assume it was a long one!
In town, throughout the valley, all across the state, right now there are people sleeping in campers out in pastures, in barns, hunkered in stalls, or curled up in the backs of their trucks. All awaiting to assist mamas if they need help, and to make sure births are smooth and everyone is nursing and good to go, and jump in should something hit the fan.
Husbandry, midwifery, EMT, on-call ER skills all rolled into one tired soul.
There are also people who are sleeping with lambs in their family room, filling their entryways with storage totes for bum lambs, kids, and sometimes a small calf. Some bathtubs are lined with straw and towels and sometimes heating pads to help out a week lamb or kid. I would imagine there are bottle babies watching TV with children on the couch as I type.
This is happening all around you right now, and we are no exception.
We have new mamas tending to their kids, some kids full time on bottles, and one bum House Goat that needs some TLC before he learns how to be a full time goat.
Time, care, attention, to new life is part of our agricultural history, and part of your story if you live here. It’s real and a pretty cool thing.
We have a ton of new short videos – goat kids running through their new pasture, births, new kids bottle feeding, so many – have a look while you are there, we are trying to keep a daily goings-on to share with you all.
3rd Annual Farm Dinner Series with Chef Em
Mountain Provisions, Chef Em, will be hosting her 3rd Annual Dinner series and one of the evenings is at Border Farm. She has invited you all to check it out with a link to purchase tickets. Her events are big, unique, and connect people right to their food source.
CLASSES / TOURS
Our farm is animal focused and all that goes with that. We are also a source for education, classes, and consultations.
GOAT CAMP has been full the past 2 months and so much fun.
Our busiest TOUR season is now upon us. If you, you and your friends and family, your school, etc would like to come for an Education Tour, this is the time to start scheduling, we do book up through September.

One-on-One Coaching in person for the summer is now FULL. Next available appointments looks to be September.
One-on-One PHONE COACHING is available during the week, mid day.
