THE SACRED – UNDERSTANDING INSTINCT AND INTUITION

Posted by

January 10th, 2020 – the first full moon of the new year and what is known as the Wolf Moon. This moon asks us to use intuitive instinct in soft ways.

A full moon conveys a kind of creativity that is born from veiled magic, made known to us through light and shadow. The full moon teaches us that progress is sometimes subtle.

DEFINITION OF INSTINCT – a natural ability that helps you decide what to do or how to act without thinking. Instinct is also the ability to behave in a particular way that has not been learned.

DEFINITION OF INTUITION – is a process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning, bridging the gap between the conscious and nonconscious parts of our mind. It is the ability to acquire knowledge without recourse to conscious reasoning. It can be any or all of the following depending on the text – ranging from direct access to unconscious knowledge, unconscious cognition, inner sensing, inner insight to unconscious pattern-recognition and the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.

DEFINITION OF THE SACRED – something treated with great respect, reverence.

OBSERVATIONAL SKILLS – an act or instance of noticing or perceiving, regarding attentively or watching. A craft or skill built over time.

ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR – is someone that is able to communicate with animals on an intuitive level, directly and without analytical reasoning.

IN OUR HOME

I am an observer by nature and trade.

I have an intuitive sense that presents physically.

I have strong instincts. It is said that we have three brains, the logical, the heart, and the gut. Our instincts are our gut brain, and usually the first way we gather information.

There is no way for me to parcel apart these various aspects of myself, it is all me. With people as well as animals, I see and feel relationships in a different way.

With animals I am an open book of vulnerability, I welcome each new relationship with honesty, and in return animals tell me things about themselves through what I observe, my initial instinct, and my intuition. They will present themselves differently to me than others, it has been that way since I was a child. Clients that have worked with me for years can tell you better how this might look to them. It is not about crystal balls or cards, it is simply letting go of what something is supposed to be and allowing things to just be without judgement or expectation.

And part of being open to give and receive this type of information also means being able to acknowledge, fully acknowledge, what is called the shadow self. This was one of Carl Jungs theories or rather formulas – the shadow self encompasses aspects of our personalities we choose to reject or suppress, sometimes referred to as our dark side. We all have this, no person is exempt.

Working with animals who are honest, raw, and most of the time interacting in their world without apology, being open to them means bringing my shadow self out and holding it up to the light. It is a super hard thing to do, acknowledging things about your self that are super uncomfortable, and it takes work. But it is also why I can do what I do.

ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR – I have a good friend who is an Animal Communicator. She operates with a different energy than me, and our skills are different, I appreciate what she can bring to a conversation and have asked for her advice a few times over the years.

FOR YOU – If you feel something, know something, or observe something, you might want to listen to that first.

Most people have good intuition and instincts but tend to not listen to themselves or take notice unless in ‘hindsight’.

A good Animal Communicator can be a great assist in a situation that fits between your knowledge of your dog and what your veterinarians may not know. That space is like reading between the lines.

  1. You are so fortunate to know an animal communicator. Have needed one many a time. Try to rely on my instincts, intuition and my connection with my animal family, but there are always doubts. Guess that probably never goes away. I’m so very sorry that you have experienced the passing of your beloved companion. But I am also very glad that you have that connection, which is always there…just a different one now.

Very well written and explained. Carl Jung was a brilliant man. And I agreed your heightened instincts, intuition and knowledge is very impressive.

My DVM friend Diane Craig once told me that a good surgeon possesses intuition or hands. She was fortunate to have hands and her husband has the intuition.

Dr Ott has the trifecta of instinct, intuition, knowledge and hands. In recent years his hearing has become hyper sensitive where he can hear decides being used in the next OR.

I am grateful for the many gifts that you have been blessed with and what you have done to improve the lives of countless dogs.
