Please don’t worry about what others think of you …

Nope this isn’t PSYC 101. So sit back in your office, or at home in your robe, with coffee in hand and read on. This is for all the dog people who give other people way too much power.

Your dog doesn’t care about the clothes you wear, or not.

Your dog doesn’t care that you can’t throw a ball very well.

Your dog doesn’t care that you water the garden in your robe and slippers, even if it’s noonthirty.

Your dog does not care about your morning breath, kisses are kisses.

Your dog doesn’t care that you haven’t brushed your hair for a while.

Your doesn’t care that you can be a bit farty sometimes.

Your dog doesn’t care that you drink coffee.

Your dog doesn’t care that you were late to work, just a bit.

Your dog doesn’t care that you kind of burnt dinner.

Your dog doesn’t care about what others think about you.

Your dog wants you.

Your dog wants who you are, on the inside.

Your dog wants your attention.

Your dog wants your honesty.

Your dog wants to feel safe with you.

Your dog wants to play with you, real play where there are no mistakes or rules, just play.

Your dog wants a place to live with you, a home, in the full sense of the word.

Your dog wants to share in the real part of your relationship, together.

Your dog wants to enjoy the rain and the sun with you.

Your dog wants you.

And how awesome is that.

What others think about you when you are out and about with your dog does not matter, it does not matter one little bit. Your dog is counting on you to be the person they know.

If you need to drop to your knees, whistle, and wave your arms for your dog to get excited about coming to you, well then that is what you need to do, your dog is counting on you. It does not matter what others think about you in that moment.

Your dog is counting on you to not just talk about your relationship with them, but to live it, to focus on what is important, to take that time, to walk that talk.

Your dog will teach you how to be a good person, how to trust, how to love fully, and how to be honest. Your dog will teach you how to stand tall and believe in a real relationship.

Your dog truly does not care what others think about you, that is your first lesson. Focus on what is real, important, and from the inside.

Nancy

Except my dogs are everlastingly disappointed that I cannot throw the ball very far 😦 They rush off all excited then turn around to see just how close to me the ball actually landed. it doesn’t help that DH can throw the ball log distances ;-(
